Therapy for Women

Picture

Women are so full of strength and passion!

Yet, sometimes we are told that that strength cannot show or can only be used in the background. Sometimes we have carried our worries for too long. We might feel worn out and overwhelmed. It might not feel safe to admit that we need help. My own story and growth as a woman would not have been possible without having sought out counseling for myself. I am honored to provide that same kind of safe place to other women who would like to explore what they need and who they want to become. The following are some of the areas that I would love to explore with you:
  • Exploring Sexuality
  • Healing from Relational Betrayal
  • Relationship Issues
  • Discovering your Passion and Strength
  • Boundaries
  • Gender Oppression
  • Domestic Violence
  • Religious Trauma
  • Anxiety and Depression

WORK WITH ME

Exploring Sexuality

Being a woman can bring with it so many preconceived notions about who you are and how you can act. How well do you know and understand your own sexuality? Do you know what turns you on or what turns you off?

Relational Issues

Relationships can be hard. Feeling disconnected from those you are closest to can feel isolating and hopeless. Whether you are struggling with an intimate partner, friend, or family member I can provide a nonjudgmental space for you to process your thoughts, feelings, fears, and dreams.

Healing after a betrayal, abuse, or trauma is possible. Having someone who can enter into your story with you and walk with you through those painful moments can be invaluable. Your world might feel like it is spiraling out of control.  Women Therapy can be the one place where you can feel some solid ground under your feet.

Learning to set boundaries can feel intimidating! However, once you know what you are ok with and what you are not ok with, then boundaries do not seem so overwhelming. We can work together to figure out where your boundary needs to be and how to express your needs to those around you.

Domestic Violence is so prevalent and also so hidden in our culture today. There are many different ways that someone can be manipulated and controlled, not only through overt physical violence. I can work with you to determine if you are the victim of domestic violence and what your next steps can be.

Gender Oppression

This topic is near and dear to my heart. The various ways in which women have been oppressed can range from subconscious micro-aggressions to thinly veiled overt discrimination. When you add racial and sexual identities into the mix, the oppression not only compounds but also becomes complicated. Women are so resilient! I am passionate about working with women to help them find their voice in the midst of their oppression and discrimination.
