Inside the Office
Counseling can seem scary and daunting! I remember my first time walking into my therapist's office. I was completely overwhelmed with my life and my marriage. I had no idea what this process was going to be like or what to expect.
I am here to journey with you through this process as we begin to work together. You can expect our initial session to include time for us to get to know each other. I want to hear what led you to seek out counseling and what it has been like to live in your shoes. I want to know where you would like to end up when we are finished.
I also want you to feel comfortable with me. Interviewing your potential counselor is a great idea! Not every counselor is going to be a good fit for you, your personality, or your situation.
Outside the Office
I spend most of my free time with my family. I met my husband in college and we have two amazing kiddos in elementary school (one soon to be middle school, yikes!). We have a few fish and two hilarious kittens that keep us entertained. We love to go camping and hiking. One of my favorite family rituals happens every Friday night. The grown-ups have a glass of wine, we make pizza completely from scratch, and enjoy a movie together.
My absolute favorite thing to do is to meet up with a friend and have a deep conversation over a cup of really good coffee. Not all coffee is the same and not all conversations are either!
My fees are $120 per 50 minute session.
I also offer 90 minute sessions for $220.
I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots in my practice to make my services as accessible as possible. If you’d like more information about my sliding scale options, please feel free to reach out to me. If I’m not able to work with you myself, I’m more than happy to refer you to some trusted sliding-scale options in the area.
I ask that you please provide at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel a session. If a session is cancelled outside of this window, the full fee will be collected.
I’m an out-of-network provider and do not directly bill insurance for services at this time. Using insurance benefits can often disrupt your autonomy over the therapeutic process and my ability to keep our work entirely confidential. Insurance companies require official mental health diagnoses and often dictate the types of therapy provided and how long we’re able to work together. Because this structure doesn’t align with my values as a therapist or the quality of service I believe you deserve, I’ve chosen to not panel as an in-network provider at this time.
I also recognize that by not accepting insurance, my services may be less accessible for some. Please reach out to me about my sliding scale offerings, if affordability is a barrier for you. I’m also able to provide you with a super bill as an out-of-network provider that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Depending on your coverage and need, this may be a sustainable option.
